Over the last month and a half, JD and I have been overwhelmed with the generousity of gifts and well wishes from friends, family, co-workers, and people we haven't even met in person! Everytime a card, an e-mail, or a package arrives -- we just look at each other in amazement. My stack of Thank You cards sits here on the table and my list keeps growing and growing. I think about them everyday and I promise --- I vow to get them out soon. I wish we would've had room in our suitcase to take them to Russia with us so I could have done them there! Having Kristina has been the most joyous time of our lives, but leaves very little "down time."
Please know we haven't forgotten about one gesture of generousity and will be in touch with you all individually as soon as possible.
Love,
Laura, Jon and Kristina xoxo

Congratulations on your beautiful little girl. I found your blog recently and have had fun reading about your beautiful family.
I am an adoptive Mom myself as well as being Russian, so this has been particularly interesting to me. Kristina is just wonderful and you both are doing so well with her. I am so happy for you.
Laura, I was a babycenter poster (MMC - first time Moms board) and have been following you these past 4-5 years. I am so extremely happy for you that your dream of becoming a Mom is now a reality. I always thought you were so deserving and such a wonderful supporter of the women in your BBC groups. Kristina is a beautiful girl and she will feel how blessed she is to have you and Jon as parents. Our babies do have a wonderful way of finding us when they finally do!! I was 41 when I had my twins via donor eggs and 43 (one week shy of my 44th birthday) when my miracle, Julia, was born in January after all these years of undergoing fertility treatments. If only someone could tell us when we are feeling low on this journey that life will really turn out ok for us in the end. Once again enjoy every second of being Kristina's mom - yeah that's right you are a MOM - hurray for you.
