Счастливого Рождества! Merry Christmas!

Father Frost (Russia's version of Santa Claus) and his granddaughter, Snequrochka - the Snow Maiden.

Kristina's stocking hangs on the fireplace filled by Father Frost. The title of the book is "Happy New Year."

Today, January 7, we celebrated the Russian Christmas at home with our daugher and both sets of grandparents. How much more blessed could we be?

Kristina received a Russian stocking from my dear friend, Auntie Dawn, so we hung it next to our tree on the fireplace and placed candy and a Russian children's book inside. She thumbed through the book but it paled in comparison to the chocolate...no surprise!

I look back on the post from Russian Christmas of 2009 ( http://ourrussianangel.blogspot.com/2009/01/in-russianmerry-christmas.html ) and I can't believe it's already been a year. Time is flying so fast....why didn't it go this fast when we were waiting for our dossier approval?

For prospective adoptive parents out there, hang in there. We pray the wait will soon be a distant memory for you, too!

Christmas Blessings to All!

Happy Birthday, Nana!!

Hi Nana!

Here it is the last day of the year and everyone in the world is celebrating. How did you arrange to have such a big party on your birthday?

Have I said thank you for taking care of me every Friday night and Saturday while Mama and Papa go to work? I love playing with you, making cookies, squeezing tangerine juice, feeding the birds and going for walks. You're a very cool Nana and I know I am a very lucky little girl.

Can't wait to see you again real soon. Oh, and can I have more M&Ms?

Lots of love,
Your Tina xoxoxo

Belated Merry Christmas, Kristina! What a lucky girl you are... you get to celebrate Christmas twice!

Although, I just saw a picture in the newspaper that showed the Russian Orthodox tradition of plunging into icy cold waters on the Epiphany... sure hope Mama and Papa decided to pass on celebrating that tradition!!
