Met the Boyfriend....

Kristina's pre-school had their own version of "Octoberfest" last night complete with cotton candy, popcorn, hot dogs, water, Ring Toss, Bowling, Skeetball, and, of course, a Bouncie House.  When I was approached "Oh, so you are Kristina's mom" -- I began to wonder what my child did to earn some sort of recognition.

As it turned out, it was Keegan's mom.  "All Keegan talks about is 'Kristina this', 'Kristina that'," she informed me and I let her in on our family secret that Kristina talks about Keegan daily, as well.  At dinner each night, we discuss the day's events and who Kristina played with.  Gaby, her BFF, is always at the top of her list but immediately followed by her "boyfriend", Keegan.

Finally, we met the boyfriend who gave our little girl her first kiss (I must admit...I do wonder who initiated the kiss!) .
The Happy Couple
Last week, Kristina officially moved up into the "big kids' classroom" for children 3-4 years old (Kristina will be 4 in January).  With this move, she's now with some older children.  This means she comes home with some new phrases, gestures, and attitude -- mostly all good, but some that are challenging.  (I refuse to think that she has lost her hearing and can no longer hear us when we call for her...)

Moving up to a new class means being able to play on the Big Playground.  For over a year, Kristina and her friends have had to play on a different playground -- much smaller without a large jungle-gym.  Often I'd arrive at school to pick Kristina up and Kristina and her friends would have their faces pressed to the fence that leads to the Big Playground.  Yep -- a bad case of Playground Envy.  Now, Kristina is in all her glory playing on the Big Kids' Playground.

I'm a big girl!

Rain or shine, Kristina always has to say goodbye and give hugs to the schools' Deers!
Stay tuned:  Lots more to come with "Tina" updates!

I just read your comment you left on my blog and I am glad that the Rainbow Bridge poem helped. How ironic your family is from my neck of the woods. I grew up on Long Island and moved to South Florida when I was 25 years old. My kids have grown/growing up here. My closet friend grew up in LA and she lives here in Boca Raton. She feels the areas can parallel each other.
