...as I travel in a few minutes to Indianapolis leaving behind my baby and love of my life. (I'm working/attending the Occupational Therapy National Association's yearly conference.) I sometimes tear up when I drop Kristina off at school so I guess I'd have to admit that I'm quite attached to my little girl making times like this tough.
I stayed up late last night packing so I could spend as many waking hours today together. Except for a few errands, we had great quality time.
One errand we ran together was to go to Master Sam's Karate Studio since Kristina's gi (karate uniform) is way too big. As the classes were going on, we got to talk to him and we really like him! We saw his daughter (about 20 years old) who is a black belt. Kristina just lit up watching her, the other Master instructing the class, and the kids in the class work out. We can tell he's strict on discipline but in a good way. Now that her gi fits better, Kristina is ready to hit the mats!

| For one of the first times, I aim a camera at Kristina and she doesn't give me a princess pose! |
 |
| Bet you don't want to be caught in an alley with this girl! |
 |
| This girl's got the moves! |
When it finally came time to wind down for the night, I read Kristina one of my favorite books, Love You Forever, by Robert Munsch. It was the first time I didn't cry (although it was close!) when reading this book as it's very touching...I always need tissues in hand.
As soon as she fell asleep, I went into high gear preparing for my getaway. I made Kristina a gift basket so she'll have something to open each day while I'm gone (like this child really needs anything else!). I also made a countdown grid so she can "X" out the days until I come home. Yes, I'll be bringing one with me, too!

| Just a few goodies for our angel... |
 |
| And this is what she's waking up to in the morning! |
 |
| The fridge is adorned with the countdown until I can hug my baby again! |
On that note, I'm down to less than 15 minutes away from heading out the door. I think I'll go kiss my angel a few more times. She's sleeping in our bed tonight keeping my pillow warm. God, I love this girl (and you, too, Jon!)!

Laura, you are an AWESOME mom! Kristina, practice your roundhouse, side kick, back kick, blocks, etc. Can't wait to see photos of you wearing your black belt!
