Tina Twinkle Toes

For over a year, Kristina has been going to a Dance/Gymnastics Class at school every Wednesday.  She loves it and comes home showing off her latest dance moves and singing the lyrics to the latest songs.

Today, Kristina and her friend, Kira, started ballet at our local recreation center.  For the next 8 weeks, Kristina will be dressed up in a pink leotard, slippers and dance skirt (not quite the tutu I wore many, many eons ago!).  She looked so cute and actually did really well! 

I started to worry the other day when Kristina began to declare "I don't want to go to Ballet."  But in less than one minute of entering the room, Kristina began twirling her skirt as she looked at herself in the long room-length mirror.  She's now sold on ballet...and I couldn't take my nose off the glass window as I gazed into the room to watch her.

Ready to leave for ballet with her very own dance bag (a big bag carrying only ballet slippers for now!).

While her friend, Kira, pulled her own tutu up over her chest, Kristina focused and looked like a prima ballerina!  Well, almost...

All girly-girly?  Well, depends!  Today, Kristina also started Karate at school and LOVED it. She's one of only two girls in the class with a bunch of boys.(Hopefully pictures to come of this next week.)  First thing she said when I picked her up from school was:  "Mr. Sam said we have to concentrate like this" as she sat there silently.  Hmmm, I'm going to utilize some of Mr. Sam's techniques!
