Super Bowl Sunday

It was a typical weekend for us...running in a few different directions one day and then spending quality time on Monday as a family of three.

Kristina was invited to a friend's birthday party on Sunday - Ariel turned 3. When we showed up, the first thing Kristina saw in the backyard was the Finding Nemo bouncie house which she LOVED. Elmo made an appearance but to her, he was "scarey" so we stayed at a distance just like we did for the jolly old man back in December.

An entertainer showed up with puppets and music to sing nursery rhymes with all the children. Kristina really enjoyed this. Her favorite songs right now are "Itsy Bitsy Spider," "10 Little Monkey's Jumping on the Bed," and "Old MacDonald Had a Farm."

Ahhh, yes...the benefit of having a blondie -- I can find her in a crowd of children quite easily!

It was quite overstimulating for Kristina, though. I counted over 35 kids at one moment -- plus add all the parents so this was one huge shin-dig. We only knew a handful of people and I followed Kristina's lead --- right to an empty room that they had set up with puzzles, crayons and stickers.

Score!!! Chocolate and bubbles in the goodie bags! (Kristina admired Ariel's long curls tied back in a pony tail.)

After the party, we went directly to JD's parents for a Super Bowl afternoon. We had a great time although Kristina didn't understand all the hoopla of men wearing supertight pants jumping all over each other and throwing a ball around. She much would have preferred to have been the usual center of attention the entire time but on Sunday, she had to share the limelight.

So who were we all rooting for??? We have no ties to Indiana at all but we do have our friends who survived Hurricane Katrina years ago so we were pulling for the Saints. I never pick the right Bachelor, the correct Amazing Race winning couple, or the Survivor who outlasts everyone else...but for once, the team I was rooting for WON! It was a great day....and our sweet Kristina fell asleep on the way home making it a very quiet evening. Yes, life is grand.

OK, let the Super Bowl party begin -- break out the apple juice and M&M's, Nana!

Hmmm, how come no one wants to go for a walk with me???

Kristina now fits into the first shoes we bought her a few weeks after meeting her on Trip #1. The shoes are "Wee Squeaks" and they squeak when she walks. LOVE 'EM!

"Ok, so if I push that button, that will turn the TV off and maybe I'll get some attention around here!"

Kristina "watching" the game with her cousins, Alex ("Ike") and Griffin ("Giffin").

Nah, Kristina's not indicating that the Saints are #1...she's asking for a piece of chocolate. "Only one!" She's got her father's passion for chocolate. :)

I LOVE the photos. She is just adorable and her hair is getting so long. I don't blame her for being overstimulated at that party, 35 kids and I would be too! It sounds like you guys are having lots of fun.

You have to love it that Kristina knows exactly what she wants....chocolate! Anna has often been found sneaking an M&M!

LOVE the pictures!!! She is getting so big and the shoes are just adorable ... do they make boys!!!!!

Go Saints ... that's who we rooted for but then a Patriot fan would never root for Peyton Manning :-)

She gets cuter by the day! She looks so big and her outfit was simply adorable! And what a personality...I hope that maybe someday we can come to LA for a Russian festival and Alex and Kristina can meet. :)
