Congrats in order!

Congratulations to Trish and Tony for surviving Court in Ekaterinburg today. After a grueling 3 hours and 45 minutes (eeek!!!), there are two beautiful little girls in the world who now have a loving family. Many blessings to the DiMaria Clan!! :)

Currently in Russia, there are approximately 700,000 children without parental care of which around 170,000 are up for adoption*. Children are up for adoption only after parental rights have been relinguished. Meanwhile, children may be taken away from parents due to drug or physical abuse, poverty, neglect, etc. and placed in orphanages to live out their lives until the age of 16 and not be "adoptable". It's very sad and anyone who has been to a Russian orphanage has had their heartstrings pulled when seeing all the other children.

Kristina is on the left and one of her friends on the right -- looking at "baka" (the orphanage dog)

I wish for all the children to one day walk (or drive) out through the gates that they are looking at.

The caregivers chant "choo-choo" as the children prepare to go back inside.

The little boy on the right (sitting on the see-saw) holds a very special place in my heart and memory. He would say Kristina's name "Kristeeena" so sweetly.

Personally, I would love to adopt another child. Yes, I'd go back to Ekaterinburg to Judge "S" and do the whole process over again now that I feel I can do it with my eyes closed (well, almost!). Unfortunately, financially, it's impossible. It's a shame that money is the issue between a child living their life in an institution vs. a child finding a home and family. Every night, Kristina and I pray for the children who need a loving home and every night, her "amen" gets louder and clearer. One of these days, she'll understand what she's praying for....

Seeing the other children broke my heart. I'd love to go get them all and bring them home. Especially when they saw us and chanted "Mama" "Papa". Maybe one day.
