It was quite the experience since the movie was in 3D. Kristina wouldn't wear the glasses mostly because she had her hands over her ears 100% of the time. Not sure why the theatres think they have to pump up the volume so high but our sensitive one doesn't like loud noises. She wouldn't sit in the seat alone, so I had my own personal lap-warmer for the entire movie. Actually, it was nice!
She enjoyed the movie but really, I think she enjoyed the popcorn and juice box even more. It was definitely a wonderful family date. (And exciting for me as it was my first movie in over a year and a half. Who-hoo!)
Tickets: $8.75 ea + $3.75 ea for 3D glasses (Matinee Prices)
Popcorn and 2 Beverages: $12.00
Little girl experiencing her first movie: Priceless
"Too looooouuuuud!"
After the movie, Kristina found the 3D glasses fun.
"Hey, maybe I belong in the movies!"
Tuesday, August 10th, marked Kristina's one-year for attending school. Wow - where did that time go to? I've been documenting her "growth" outside the school where she LOVES to say hi and bye to the deers. (Yes, a true "Deary" through and through.) My, our little Deary has grown!

The wave "good-bye" I get every morning when dropping Kristina off as Kristina's teacher holds her up to the window... How I wish I could go back in for one more hug!

That is great that she was able to sit through the movie despite being bothered by the volume. She looks like a completely different little girl than she did one year ago!
Sounds like a fun time out! I agree, Kristina looks like she belongs IN the movie. A little star in the making... she is getting so big!
they charge for the 3D glasses? crazy. glad y'all had a good time.
what a really fun time and wonderful "first" together :)i love the shot of your little deary by your deer :) great idea and my how she is thriving :)
She is quite the movie star!! I love going to the movies with my girls. We went to Ramona and Beezus most recently. So FUN! Cadence is sensitive to the sound too so I bring her headphones to wear that mute it enough so she can enjoy the movie and still hear what is being said. Karsen is my popcorn eater. She sits still as long as there is popcorn in front of her.
I totally understand the one more hug thought. One the days I drop them off knowing they will be with their dad that night, I can't seem to get enough of them. I have been known to leave their class only to show back up a few minutes later for just one more hug and kiss. Don't think I will ever have enough of them.
I'm so happy for you and Jon and LOVE reading your entries and seeing the pictures of your adorable family!
Thank you for your inspiration. I love reading your wonderful, fun, everyday parent-child life stories. What a family you have built.
