My First Mother's Day

Dear Kristina DeAnn:

Today was a day I have waited to celebrate for many years. As a Godmother to six "kids", I have been blessed - no doubt. But my dream since I was a little girl was to be a mom. You, my little Kristina, have fulfilled my dream.

I promise to take care of you, to hold you when you are scared, to laugh with you when you are happy and to encourage you to follow your dreams always. I hope to be a role model for you as my mom has been for me.

There was a reason we were put together in this world. God knew that I couldn't have a child but he knew of my dream and desire. He found someone who could have a child but just couldn't raise this child like he felt I could, along with your Papa. So he tied our heartstrings together so we would become one as a family.

Papa and I went to Mass at St. Ann's tonight after visiting with you. I prayed to be the best mom I can be and for God to look after you, little one. I know he heard us.

I love you, Kristina DeAnn, and thank you for making my first Mother's Day very special.

Love always,
Mama xoxoxo

Laura, you made me cry with this post! My Mother's Day was great as well...but such a flurry of activity...I'll set aside some time to pray quietly and reflect on what has been such a blessing to all of us!
