It was a gorgeous day in Ekaterinburg -- the sun shone so brightly melting away all the snow and drying up the streets. We believe it was almost 60 degrees F!! We spent the better part of the morning sleeping in and trying to rid ourselves of our colds and then it was time to leave to see our angel at 3pm.
Today we had a different driver, Victor. I think most FF families know Victor -- he's quiet (ok, so he doesn't speak a lick of English) but he's so friendly. I spent the majority of our 50 minute drive to the orphanage studying my Russian so I could say "Meet you at 6:00." (I've already got down "I have a sore throat and cold!")
When we got to the orphanage, there was another couple, Albert and Anna from Spain, arriving to meet their son again before going to court on 5/15. They had all of us up in the playroom together but the orphanage doctor asked that we stay on one side of the room and they stay on the other side. Hellooooooo....we're dealing with 2 year-olds here!!! We did our best but there was intermingling, of course.
I brought a pink sweatsuit that my mom sent to us late last year and we attempted to send to Kristina at Christmas time. You may recall if you were following the blog back in January that the sweatsuit, along with lots of other gifts for Kristina and the kids, got stuck in customs in Moscow and was sent back to us. It's a size 18-months (and she's almost 28 months old) so I was curious to see if it would fit. Wha-la!! It fit perfectly! She found the pockets in the jacket and thought it was so much fun to hide anything she could find in them -- including her little hands.
Our little one "striking a pose." Put this girl on the catwalk!

i'm so impressed with you learning some russian. that is the hardest language!
How cute! I love the sweatsuit. Love the shoes too. Colby wore very similar ones but they were yellow and dark blue.
That is just precious! It is going to be such a wonderful new life when K gets home. It makes me smile to think about it :)
My little peanut is 30 months now and just cracking into 18 months clothes herself!!! Kristina will grow grow grow once you get home!!
I don't think I mentioned that I really do love her name ;)
That outfit is darling...pink is perfect for that little one..I can't wait to see her sweet little face!
It is good to know Russian...even with our new one year old it has been helpful to know a few words so that when she is upset I can say a couple of things to her and she always calms down when I do. I think it is so great that you are getting to spend all of this time with her..she is not going to hesitate to walk out the doors with you. One thing I highly recommend you learn is "Good night" or Spa koy nay no che. Very helpful. You probably already know it!
So happy for you! Congratulations again!!!
Kristine
