After 4 weeks here, our stay in Ekaterinburg is drawing to an end. Tomorrow, we pick up Kristina and head to the airport to catch a flight to Moscow.
Today, we spent the first part of the day going to the Immigration Services Building and getting paperwork started for Kristina's passport. We were able to do that because the honorable Judge S issued the Resolution -- meaning we are officially 100% Kristina's parents (and survived the 10-day wait/appeal period!!). I guess she was in a good mood --- as today is also the Judge's birthday.
After issuing the passport paperwork, Jon and I got our tickets to Moscow at the Aeroflot office. (We had waited to get tickets for this leg of our trip due to the chance that dates may change and we didn't want to have to pay change fees on cheap airline tickets.) It was then 4:15 and we asked Andre to please drive us to the Orphanage so we could have one last visit with Kristina. By 5pm, we arrived and she was outside playing with her Grupa. She recognized us and ran up to us with arms wide open. Today's visit was full of giggles, laughter. Her caregivers tell her that tomorrow she leaves with Mama and Papa but we're sure she really doesn't understand.
So, when does everyone get to see a picture of our Angel????? Stay tuned ~ Wednesday, Gotcha Day, is when we will officially do the "unveiling". We don't arrive in Moscow until after 11pm Wednesday so it might be late night but as long as our apartment has internet, Kristina's smile will finally beam on our blog.
Dearest Kristina:
This is your last night in the place you have known as home for the last 14 months. It will be a busy few days and I'm sure confusing to you. But hold on tight to Papa and me ~ we'll take care of you.
We love you with all our hearts,
Mama and Papa xoxoxo
