Court Tomorrow!

Have anyone ever worked with someone on a project -- whether it's been at work or in school -- and the other partner says, "I'll just wing it"? JD said that to me this evening when we started preparing for our Court appearance tomorrow and I just wanted to bop him one over the head!! UGH!!! Instead of having to explain the huge welt on his head to the judge in court, I restrained and just wouldn't let him go to bed until he could answer all the questions!

We met with an independent Court Interpreter around noon today and she was with us until after 2:30pm. She reviewed a TON of information with us and prompted us on things to say and things to avoid. I have no idea how we can get through all the information in a 2-hour court session with interpretations included but we'll just go with the flow. After all, this is **our story**: When we met, got married, tried to have a family, lived through ups and downs trying, and our ultimate decision to go the adoption route. No one knows this journey better than us, right?

When the interpeter left, we decided to see if our driver was available to take us to the Orphanage and lucky us -- he was! In 20 minutes, we were on our way and we were able to spend a few hours with K outside. The weather was beautiful --- sunny and probably in the 50s. The head doctor asked if "mama" wanted to dress her up to get her ready to go out and I jumped at the chance! K was adorable in her 4 layers of clothing which were too big. I'll upload pictures tomorrow as for now, we really have to get some sleep in prep for our big day tomorrow.

Thank you EVERYONE for your well wishes for a successful court day tomorrow.

Goodnight...as this is our last night as a single couple. Tomorrow we will be parents!!! :)

It is finally happening - YAY!! You have had so many struggles in so many areas trying to become parents, but it will all be worth it... K is one lucky little angel, and all my prayers, love, and support go out across the World to you and JD and Precious K. Hope we get to know her full name after it becomes official.

I'm sure everything will work out ok. Mike, who hates to talk in public, was very worried but he did fine. The judge will have JD talk for the most part. Then you will answer a few questions. The bulk of the work is on JD though so I hope he prepared a little anyway. Let us know how it goes.

You'll both do great I'm sure!!! My husband decided to "wing it" too. He asked our translator, "If I say anything wrong, you'll fix it when you translate, right?" To which she replied "Da!". I only had to answer one question - what day did you get married. I got the year wrong. The judge actually laughed. I've yet to live that one down!!! Best Wishes!!!

I hope things go smoothly at court today and can't wait to hear and see pictures!!!

I too have a husband who likes to "wing" it.... thanks for the tip on NOT bopping him on the head ... your right ... it would be hard to explain to the judge!

Laura and JD - I'll be thinking of you and checking often. I do not have the words to express what I am feeling for you right now. Tomorrow (the 29th of April) is a very, very special day for me, and to think that it is the day K's officially pronounced as yours has so much meaning and emotion for me, so although I would be thinking of you anyone, it's truly a special day.

love,
