Holiday or no holiday --- we still got to see K. And the weather was beautiful in the 50's (farenheight). For the first time, I got to dress K up in clothes -- albeit it was a ski jacket, knit pants, boots, scarf and hat --- but hey --- I'll take anything. Definitely almost bundled up like the kid in "Christmas Story"... although K could atleast move her arms.
We had fun on the see-saw, slide, blowing bubbles, scribbling on paper, and playing with a ball. She's definitly like the energizer bunny and keeps going and going. No wonder JD falls asleep by 8:30pm latest each night ~ and that's only playing with her 1.5-2 hours per day. A truly wonderful visit. We're just sad when it's time to "give her away."
A sight we never get used to....as K is taken away to her Grupa.
Since we went to visit K in the morning from 10-11:30am vs. our usual 4:30-6:00pm, we had the afternoon to ourselves. We walked the city and grabbed dinner at "Gordon's Doctor Scotch Pub". A few glasses of beer and 2 tasty Scottish dishes and we were HAPPY. Dad: I think you would have loved this pub...we'll definitely be back! I look forward to venturing into a Russian restaurant soon but it is so hard when we don't speak the language that the servers speak, nor do we understand the menu.
K: You bring us so much joy that words cannot even describe. When we knew we couldn't be with you for your birthday in January, we hoped for Easter on April 12. Last week, we were bummed that we just missed that day as well. But little did we know that we really would get to spend Easter with you!!! xoxoxo, Mama and Papa

What a wonderful way to spend the day - with so many more to come, too. Yeah for you!

Yeah! Doctor Scotch's. We ahd a wonderful Valentine's Day dinner there. Good food and a nice atmosphere. I enjoyed sitting looking over the river. What a difference a few months makes. We had about a foot of packed snow in front of the restraunt while we were there.
I am so glad you were able to celebrate Easter with K. What a great surprise!

Laura and Jon,
Don't worry, soon enough K will not have to go back to her Grupa, and the 3 of you will be together everyday. So, catch as much sleep as you can during the down times and store plenty of energy, get ready for play time 24-7, well, except of course when she goes to sleep or goes down for a nap. Yeap at times it can be exhausting, but spending time with your daughter is the best thing in the world and believe me you would rather be doing nothing else but playing and spending all that time with her and more.
Looking forward to seeing you all 3 back home.

Laura, my heartbreaks to see her being carried away. I'm so happy that she will be with you forever VERY SOON!

Happy Easter, what a great surprise to be able to spend the holiday with her. The pub sounds great how about if we meet there next Tuesday or Wednesday. WOW making dinner plans in Russia can not wait to meet you, my child and see pictures of K. Beth

You are the best, we just got back from Mexico and what do we find but your card! With all your going through and everything you have to do you think of others. This is just one more thing that shows how giving and loving you are. I am so pround to say that you are (and have been for over 30 years)one of the closest and best friends a person could ever have. We love you.
Looking forward to meeting K in June.

Happy Easter! You can begin counting down the days until you no longer have to say goodbye at dinner time. What a wonderful feeling it will be when the person carrying her away is YOU! Sounds like she is really bonding with you!
Thinking of you LOTS!! Sending you hugs and enjoying reading your blog!!!
